Titleist Tips: The Right Way to Approach Fast Downhill Putts

From Michael Breed On April 24, 2020

Have you ever hear the old golf maxim that for fast, downhill putts you should strike the ball off the toe of your putter face to deaden the blow? This old saw has circulated for years, but as Titleist staff member Michael Breed explains, it's time to cast it aside.

The only only way to develop reliable feel in your putting game is to minimize the number of variables you have to deal with. Otherwise, distance control becomes a guessing game.

As Michael demonstrates in... the video above, by hitting every putt out of the center of your putter face, you'll have a much easier time calibrating the length of your stroke and how forcefully to hit your putts.

Give Michael's advice a try and let us know if it helps your distance control on the greens.
