Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas earned the 99th PGA Championship in dramatic fashion for his first career major and his fourth victory of the year. The 24-year old closed with a 3-under par 68 en route to an 8-under 276 victory total, two shots clear of three players, including Pro V1x golf ball loyalists Francesco Molinari and Louis Oosthuizen.
In fact, Thomas topped a leaderboard on which six of the eight players who finished among the top seven and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success. Rickie Fowler (Pro V1) tied for 5th, three shots behind Thomas, while Kevin Kisner (Pro V1) and Titleist Brand Ambassador Graham DeLaet (Pro V1x) tied for 7th, another shot back.
The victory was sweet for Thomas, who comes from a family of golfers including his father Mike Thomas who is a PGA Professional on Titleist staff, as well as his grandfather who was also a PGA Professional.
"For this to be my first one and have my dad here, and I know grandpa was watching at home. I was able to talk to him and that was pretty cool. It's just a great win for the family, and it's a moment we'll never forget, all of us," Thomas said.
Let's take one more look at the winning moment.
Congratulations, Justin!
