Titleist Weekly Tour Highlights

PGA TOUR:

Brendon Todd (Pro V1x) secured his second win of the year in a Monday finish after play was delayed on Thursday due to weather. Three holes remained for the final few pairings, of which each of the top 10 players on the leaderboard relied upon a Pro V1 or Pro V1x for their success.

The win marks the second win for Todd in just three weeks, and the seventh for Titleist golf ball players through the first 11 events of the 2019-20 PGA TOUR season, compared to two for the nearest competitor.

EUROPEAN:

Tommy Fleetwood captured an all-Titleist Pro V1x playoff at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, topping challenger Marcus Kinhult with a par on the first extra hole.

The win puts Fleetwood in contention to top the Race to Dubai Rankings for the second time in three years.

Fleetwood began the final round six strokes off the lead, but raced up the leaderboard by carding three eagles (Nos. 9, 10, 14) and a birdie (No. 15) over his final 10 holes en route to a 7-under 65.

The 12-under par 276 total in regulation by Fleetwood and Kinhult was four shots clear of three players, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Bernd Wiesberger (Pro V1, TS3/8.5 driver, TS3/13.5 fairway metal, 818 H2/17 hybrid, U500 3-iron, 620 CB/4-6 and 620 MB/7-9 irons, Vokey Design SM7 pitching/46, sand/53 and lob/59 wedges, Scotty Cameron T5W putter). Wiesberger and Fleetwood are 1-2, respectively, in the current Race to Dubai rankings with just the season-ending DP World Tour Championship remaining next week.

The win is Fleetwood's fifth on the European Tour, and his first since the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in January, 2018.

The $2.5 million first prize was the largest in European Tour history.

Fleetwood’s win marked the 22nd by a Titleist golf ball player on the European Tour this season, nearly three times the nearest competitor with eight (8), and more than all other golf balls combined.
