In 1996 Master Wedge Craftsman Bob Vokey joined Titleist.
After eight months at the work bench and on the grinding wheel, he brought his first prototype wedges to the PGA Tour.
And as Bob recounts in the video above, twenty years ago this week, the first Vokey Design wedge went into play at St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.
To commemorate that special milestone, Bob has crafted a replica of his original 456.14 sand wedge as a limited release during this week's St. Jude Classic.
The 456.14 LTD features a classic design with increased offset and a rounded profile. The 14° bounce makes it a great option in soft conditions, bunkers and steep angles of attack while providing great versatility around the greens. The 456.14 achieves maximum spin through TX4 groove technology and is available in a unique Polished Chrome Finish.
