Make Your Putter Work For You, Not Against You with Scotty Cameron Phantom X

When it comes to putting, there are two basic approaches:

1) Let the putter head rotate and swing on an arc.

Or,

2) Keep the face square and make the path of the putter stay on the target line.

Whether you favor a square-to-square stroke, one that resembles a swinging door, or something in between, the new Phantom X line of putters has a model to suit your style.

How? As Scotty Cameron tells us in the video above, Phantom X Mallets come in three shaft configurations — low-bend, mid-bend and straight shafted — that influence toe flow (also called toe-hang), which is the degree to which the putter naturally wants to open and close when swung.

By offering some low-bend Phantom X models (Phantom X 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 and 8.5), Scotty has created options for players who favor a higher degree of toe flow and an arced putting stroke. For players who prefer a face-balanced putter (no toe-hang), Scotty has created the Phantom X 6 and Phantom X 6STR, which favor a more square-to-square stroke.

And in between these two options, the Master Putter Craftsman has designed a variety of mid-bend shafted, near-face balanced models (Phantom X 5, 7, 8, 12) to make the most of your stroke, no matter where your preference lies on the toe flow spectrum.
