According to Darrell Survey, for the fourth time this season, Titleist has achieved the feat of sweeping every major equipment category at a PGA TOUR event. This time it is The Valspar Championship - and by looking at the counts, the choice is overwhelmingly clear.
From GOLF BALLS to DRIVERS, FAIRWAY METALS and HYBRIDS to IRONS, WEDGES and PUTTERS, the Titleist brand is the overwhelming field favorite as the Tour starts gearing up for the first major of the year.
Of the 144 players competing at Innisbrook Resort this week, 74% (106 players) are trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success, seven times the nearest competitor with 11% (16 players).
Titleist is the most popular choice among players in the driver category, with 40 models in play this week. Of those 40 Titleist drivers, 35 are TS models (TS2 - 10 ; TS3 - 25), more than all combined models of the nearest competitor with 34.
Scott Stallings | TS3 driver (10.5)
The Titleist TS3 continues to be the most played single driver model on the PGA TOUR with 25, 7 more than the next closest driver model with 18.
Titleist was also the top choice in the fairway metal (48) and hybrid (22) categories. Of the 48 Titleist fairway metals in play, 38 are new TS models (TS2 - 20 ; TS3 - 18).
Titleist led the field in irons with 37 sets in play - 10 more sets than the nearest competitor.
Sungjae Im | 718 AP2 Irons (3-PW)
The Titleist 718 MB (14) and the 718 AP2 (11) are the top two most played iron models this week.
Nearly half of all wedges in the field this week (182/47%) are of the Vokey Design variety. The nearest competitor has 60 wedges in play.
Scotty Cameron putters are once again the field favorite this week with 50 Cameron putters in play, 6 more than the nearest competitor.
