Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Players Add 4 More Wins to Titleist Worldwide Victory Tally

The winning momentum kept on rolling this weekend for golfers trusting their games to Titleist golf balls, as five more players around the globe entered the winner's circle on the Worldwide Professional Golf Tours. Ryan Palmer (Pro V1x) shared top honors at the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic of New Orleans, while Jorge Campillo (New 2019 Pro V1) captured his first career European Tour title. China's Xinjun Zhang (New 2019 Pro V1x) also captured a maiden victory — at the Web.com Tour's Dormie Network Classic, while Tom Pernice, Jr. (New 2019 Pro V1x) and Scott Hoch (Pro V1x) teamed up to win the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf on the PGA Tour Champions.

Players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 56 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's more than four times the nearest competing brand with just 13 and more than all competing brands combined.

Let’s take a closer look at this past week’s Titleist tour highlights…

Ryan Palmer (Pro V1x) was part of the winning two-man team at the Zurich Classic, closing with a 3-under-par 69 in the alternate-shot final round format. Palmer’s team finished three shots clear of a team that featured Tommy Fleetwood, who was playing the New 2019 Pro V1x golf ball for the first time in competition.

The victory was the fourth of Palmer’s PGA Tour career, and his first since winning the 2010 Sony Open in Hawaii. Palmer and his partner finished with a 26-under 262 victory total after sharing the overnight lead.

The teams of Kyoung-Hoon Lee (New 2019 Pro V1x) / Matt Every (Pro V1), and Brian Gay (New Pro V1) / Rory Sabbatini (New Pro V1x Yellow) tied for 3rd place, five shots back.

The Zurich format, the only one of its kind on the PGA Tour schedule, was best-ball in the first and third rounds, and alternate shot in the second and final rounds.

Of the 80 two-man teams in the field, 77 included at least one Titleist golf ball player. Fifty teams featured two Titleist golf ball players.

Titleist was also the top choice in the driver category, with 51 Titleist models in play. Of those Titleist drivers, 46 were TS models (TS2 - 14 | TS3 - 28 | TS4 - 4).

Titleist was also the #1 choice among players in hybrids (23) and irons (48). Vokey Design Wedges also topped the approach, sand and lob wedge category with 228 Vokey models in play.

Jorge Campillo, playing the New 2019 Pro V1 golf ball for the first time in competition, secured his first European Tour title as he triumphed at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco.

The Spaniard’s 9-under-par 283 victory total was two shots clear of three players, including Julian Suri (New 2019 Pro V1) and Erik Van Rooyen (Pro V1).

The win caps off a great start to the season for the 32-year-old, who played college golf at Indiana University. In his previous four weeks on the European Tour, he’s had two second-place finishes, a third and a T-20.

Titleist was the top golf ball of choice among players at the 2019 Trophee Hassan II“I just love the game,” Campillo said after the win. “I love competing. Most people say, maybe I’m not a winner, but I was when I was an amateur. It was a matter of time, I think I proved it today.”

Titleist was the overwhelming top choice in golf balls at the Trophee Hassan II with 118 players, which was 69% of the 156-player field, and more than four times the nearest competitor with 15% (23 players).

Xinjun Zhang (New 2019 Pro V1x) captured the inaugural Dormie Network Classic in San Antonio this weekend to earn his first career Web.com Tour victory. The 31-year-old from China entered Sunday with the lead and proceeded to pull away from the field, finishing five shots ahead of two players, including last week’s winner at the RTJ Golf Trail Championship, Titleist Brand Ambassador Lanto Griffin [917 D2 driver (10.5°), TS3 fairway metal (15°), 718 T-MB (2) and 718 AP2 (4-9) irons, Vokey Design SM7 pitching (46.12 F Grind), gap (50.12 F Grind), sand (54.08 M Grind) and lob (60.06 K Grind) wedges].

Zhang, who led the field in greens in regulation, posted a final-round, 2-under-par 70 to finish the week at 26-under 262, matching the lowest four-day total on the Web.com Tour this year (Titleist Brand Ambassador Mark Hubbard set the initial mark at this year’s LECOM Suncoast Classic).

With the win, along with four top-10 finishes this season, Zhang has risen to No. 1 in The 25 standings. With the estimated total of 830 points needed to secure a PGA Tour card, Zhang is in great position for a return to the PGA Tour with 1,135 points through the first nine events. Zhang previously played on the PGA TOUR during the 2017-18 season and is confident as he looks ahead to next season.

“I need to keep working on the same things I’ve been working on, which is a positive attitude on the course,” Zhang said. “There were times on the PGA Tour I let my emotions get the best of me. I need to continue to grow emotionally and hopefully it’ll be a new me playing out there.”

Tom Pernice Jr. (New Pro V1x) aced the first hole on the par-3 Top of the Rock course at the Big Cedar Lodge on Sunday, and along with partner Scott Hoch (Pro V1x), closed with an 8-under par 46 to capture the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf.

Their 23-under-par 156 was five shots clear of the next two closest teams. Hoch, at 63-years, five-months, became the oldest winner in the history of the PGA Tour Champions.

The win was his fourth on the PGA Tour Champions, and his first since the ACE Group Championship more than 11 years ago. For Pernice, the win marked the sixth victory of his senior circuit career. The win was the seventh by a Titleist golf ball player through the first eight events on the 2019 PGA Tour Champions.

Titleist was the top golf ball of choice among players at the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Legends of GolfTitleist was the top choice in golf balls at the Legends of Golf event with 67% of the field of 72 (48 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than six times the nearest competitor with 18% (13 players).

The win was the 7th by a Titleist golf ball player through the first 8 events on the 2019 PGA TOUR Champions.
