Titleist Is the #1 Ball at the 2024 Men's and Women’s NCAA Division I Championships

Titleist is Overwhelming #1 Ball at NCAA D1 Men’s Championship, Most Played Brand In All Major Equipment Categories

College golf’s best players competed this week for the NCAA Division I Men’s Championship, and the overwhelming majority of them played a Titleist golf ball.

  • Of the 156-player field teeing it up at La Costa, 89 percent (139 players) played a Pro V1 or Pro V1x model, more than 15 times the nearest competitor with nine.
  • It was the same story across the six qualifying NCAA regional sites, with 402 of the 450 competitors (89%) teeing up a Titleist.
  • Titleist golf clubs were also the top choice of players in every major equipment category this week at La Costa, with more of the NCAA’s best using Titleist drivers, fairways, hybrids, utility irons, irons, wedges and putters than any other brand:
    • 51 percent of players (79) at the NCAA Championship used a Titleist driver.
    • Players also used Titleist fairways (67/42%) and hybrids (14/37%) more than any other brand.
    • Half the field played Titleist irons (50%/78 players), while 66 percent (70) of the utility irons in play were Titleist.
    • 57 percent of the gap, sand and lob wedges in play were Vokey Design wedges.
    • 40 players (26%) gamed a Scotty Cameron putter, more than any other brand. 

NCAA Women’s Champ Leads 1-Through-9 Finish for Titleist Golf Ball Players

Titleist was the overwhelming #1 ball at the women’s NCAA Division I Championship, with 92 percent (144) of competitors teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x model at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.

  • That included the individual champion (Pro V1), who led a 1-through-9 finish for Titleist golf ball players.
  • Titleist clubs were also the top choice amongst competitors for drivers (51/33%), utility irons (45/90%), irons (59/38%), wedges (239/51%) and putters (50/32%).
