Behind The Numbers: The BMW Championship

The FedExCup playoffs shift into high gear this week at the BMW Championship, the final obstacle standing between players and a trip to the season's grand finale, the TOUR Championship. On Thursday, Aronomink Golf Club offered ideal scoring conditions and players took full advantage, firing at flags and boldy rolling putts on Aronomink's velvet greens. To advance to Eastlake, players will need to stay aggressive and have complete trust in their games...and their equipment.

With the season's hopes riding on a top finish in Philadelphia this week, Titleist is once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice among players at the BMW Championship, with 67% of the field (46 players in the limited field of 69) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than five times the nearest competitor with 12% (8 players) and more than all competitors combined.

This week at Aronomink Golf Club, Titleist is also the top choice in the hybrids (9) and irons categories (20). Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (95) category and Scotty Cameron putters are the choice of more players than any other brand with 26 in play.

After their official PGA Tour launch at this year's U.S. Open, the momentum continues to build at The BMW Championship for new Titleist TS drivers. Of the 15 players gaming a Titleist driver at the event, 12 are playing a new TS model (TS2: 3 | TS3: 9).

To date, 127 different players have put a new Titleist TS driver in play across the worldwide professional tours.

Each week, more and more players are also making the switch to new TS2 and TS3 fairway metals. Of the 22 Titleist fairway metals in play at the Northern Trust, 10 are a new TS model (TS2: 6 | TS3: 4).
