Breakthrough Victory for Richard McEvoy Leads 4-Win Week for Titleist Players

Players who trust their games to a Titleist golf ball continue to win at an impressive pace on the worldwide professional golf tours. This weekend, from the United States to Thailand, Germany to Scotland, Titleist players captured four more professional victories around the globe.

We saw two distinctly different maiden victories - one from a young gun with his sights already set on the PGA Tour and another from a European Tour veteran whose persistence finally paid off after 17 years of chasing his dream. We also saw two players validate earlier wins this season as the No.1 player on the LPGA Tour captured her third win of the season and a Titleist Brand Ambassador from South Africa made history on the Asian Tour.

In all, Titleist players have now accumulated 132 wins across the worldwide professional golf tours. That's over 100 more wins than the nearest competing brand with just 19.

This record of success is something we’re extremely proud of, and grateful for. All of our team members work very hard to make sure that every player who tees up a Titleist can be absolutely certain that it is the very best golf ball available. To all the players who put their trust in us, whether you're a professional or a weekend warrior, thank you from everyone at Titleist.

Congratulations to all of our winners! Let’s take a look at this past week’s Titleist tour highlights…

“I’m absolutely over the moon.”

This is how European Tour veteran Richard McEvoy (Pro V1x) summed up his feelings after he birdied the final hole of the Porsche European Open in Hamburg, Germany to claim his first European Tour title. The win comes in his 285th European Tour appearance, 17 years after making his debut and just one week after triumphing for the third time on the European Challenge Tour.

“It’s incredible,” McEvoy said. “I’ve waited a long time, 17 years as a pro on and off the tour. I just had to carry on believing until that last putt. I kept thinking seize the day, seize the day a couple of times today to give myself a little kick and I certainly did that on the last.”

The 39-year-old laid up on the par 5 final hole at Green Eagle GC, knocked his third shot to 15 feet and converted the putt for an 11-under-par 277 victory total. He finished one shot clear of three players, including Christofer Blomstrand (Pro V1x).

McEvoy’s winning performance marked the 21st victory for Titleist golf ball players on the 2017-18 European Tour, seven times the nearest competitor with three.

At this year's Porsche European Open, Titleist was once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice with 71% of the field (110 players in the field of 156) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, nine times the nearest competitor with 15% (23 players) and more than all competitors combined.

Ariya Jutanugarn (Pro V1x) fired a final round 5-under 66 at Gullane Golf Club to win The Ladies Scottish Open by one shot. She finished with a 13-under-par, 271 victory total.

The win was the 10th of her LPGA career and Jutanugarn’s third this year (she also won the Kingsmill Championship and U.S. Women's Open). With the win, she also reclaimed the top spot in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings.

Jutanugarn’s winning performance marked the 16th victory for Titleist golf ball players on the 2018 LPGA Tour, more than five times the nearest competitor with three.

Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at The Ladies Scottish Open, with 80% of the field (124 players in the field of 156) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than ten times the nearest competitor with 8% (12 players) and more than all competitors combined.

The winner of the Price Cutter Charity Championship birdied the final hole of the Price Cutter Championship to earn his first career Web.com Tour title and, most likely, his PGA TOUR card for 2018-19.

The champion, who relies on a Pro V1 golf ball, opened with a 62 at Highland Springs CC in Springfield, Missouri on Thursday and closed with a 4-under-par 68 en route to a 25-under 263 victory total.

This winning performance is the 14th for Titleist players on the 2018 Web.com Tour, more than four times the nearest competitor with three.

Titleist was once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the Price Cutter Charity Championship with 71% of the field (110 players in the field of 156) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, nine times the nearest competitor with 13% (20 players) and more than all competitors combined.

Titleist was also the top choice in the hybrids (42%) and irons categories (29%). Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (46%) category.

Justin Harding trusted a Pro V1 golf ball and Titleist clubs throughout the bag to capture the Royal Cup. In doing so, he became the first player in history to win his first two Asian Tour starts. The South African won the Indonesian Open just two weeks ago.

Harding closed with a 3-under-par 67 to win by six shots over a group of four players which included defending champion Shiv Kapur (Pro V1x).

This is the fourth win of the year for Harding whose other two victories were secured on the Sunshine Tour.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Royal Cup with 95 players in the field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than three times the nearest competitor with 23.

Titleist was also the top choice in the hybrids (30%) and irons categories (31%). Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (37%) category.
