Titleist players triumphed in a major way this weekend, led by the winner of the 101st PGA Championship, who relied on the Pro V1x golf ball to tame Bethpage Black and seize the fourth major championship title of his career. The champion, who has trusted a Pro V1x in all his major victories, led wire-to-wire and now joins an elite group of twelve players in history who have claimed at least four majors before the age of 30 (he's 29 years, 17 days old today).
With additional victories on the Web.com and South African Tours, players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 75 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's nearly six times the nearest competing brand with just 13 and more than all competing brands combined.
Let’s take a closer look at this past week’s Titleist tour highlights…

It was a wire-to-wire defense by the winner of the PGA Championship, who posted an 8-under-par 272 total en route to his fourth career major championship - all within the past two years and all with a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, Vokey Design wedges and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 SLT T10 putter.
The champion finished two shots clear of his nearest competitor and topped a leaderboard that included nine Titleist golf ball players among the 13 who finished in the top 10 and ties. The win marks the sixth PGA Tour victory for the champion.
Three players – including Titleist Brand Ambassadors Patrick Cantlay (Pro V1x, 917D2 driver, 915F fairway metal, 816H2 hybrid, 718 AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron GSS putter) and Jordan Spieth (Pro V1x, TS3 Driver, TS2 fairway metal, 818H2 hybrid, 718 T-MB/AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron 009 putter), as well as Matt Wallace (Pro V1) – all tied for 3rd place. Wallace secured his best finish at a major championship and advanced to second in the Race to Dubai Rankings.
101st PGA Championship: Highlights and Fast Facts
• The PGA Championship winner moved to No. 1 in the world with the win and No. 2 in the FedExCup standings. He is the first player to hold back-to-back titles in two majors at the same time, having won a second straight U.S. Open last summer at Shinnecock Hills.
• He is the first wire-to-wire winner in the PGA Championship since 1983. He has now won four out of the last eight majors in which he’s competed.
• He became just the second back-to-back winner of the PGA Championship since the tournament went to stroke play in 1958.
• It was his third straight year winning a major, a feat achieved by only seven others since the Masters began in 1934.
• The victory marks the seventh time in the last eight major championships where the winner has played a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.
• Titleist golf ball players have now registered 13 wins on the 2018-2019 PGA TOUR, more than twice the nearest competitor with 5.

Titleist was once again the most popular golf ball choice among players at the PGA Championship, with 63% of players in the 156-man field (98 players) trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than four times the nearest competitor with 14% (21 players) and more than all other competitor brand golf balls combined.
Titleist was also the #1 choice among players in the hybrids (30) and irons (41) categories. Vokey Design Wedges also topped the approach, sand and lob wedge category with 182 Vokey models in play.
In addition, 31 players trusted one golf brand, Titleist, from tee-to-green, throughout the entire bag — a vote of confidence that speaks volumes on a course as demanding as The Black Course at Bethpage State Park.

Robby Shelton | New 2019 Pro V1 - Knoxville Open
For the second time in three weeks, Titleist Brand Ambassador Robby Shelton won in Tennessee after capturing the Knoxville Open by one shot over fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Mark Anderson (Pro V1, TS2 driver, TS3 fairway metal, 913Hd hybrid, 718 AP2 irons, Vokey Design SM7 gap, sand and lob wedges). He won the Nashville Golf Open earlier this month.
The University of Alabama alum closed with an even par 70 en route to a 15-under 269 victory total, while Anderson shot four consecutive rounds in the 60’s in his runner-up finish. Shelton topped a leaderboard on which each of the top six finishers relied upon Titleist for their success.
Shelton moved into the top spot in the Web.com points standings with the victory and has mathematically locked up his PGA Tour card for next season. If he wins one more Web.com tournament this season, however, he’ll earn a battlefield promotion, making him immediately eligible for the PGA Tour.
Shelton switched from the mixed set of 718 CB (4-6) and 718 MB (7-9) that he won the Nashville event with to a full set of 718 CB (4-9) for the first time this week. He also switched from Dynamic Gold X100 to AMT X100 shafts. According to Titleist Web.com Tour representative Nathan Fritz, Shelton originally tested the AMT shafts in the long irons only and liked the feel and trajectory enough to add them to the rest of his set.
Titleist golf ball players have now won 10 of the first 12 events on the 2019 Web.com Tour.
Titleist was the top choice in golf balls with 67% of the Nashville field of 156 (104 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, nearly six times the nearest competitor with 12% (18 players).
Let's take a closer look at all the Titleist equipment that Robby relied on to capture his second straight Web.com Tour victory.
