For the sixth straight week to start the new 2017-2018 season, a player trusting a Titleist golf ball has won on the PGA Tour. On Sunday, Titleist Brand Ambassador Patton Kizzire relied on a Pro V1x golf ball and Titleist golf club equipment tee-to-green to secure his first PGA Tour title at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
Kizzire outlasted Titleist golf ball loyalist Rickie Fowler (Pro V1) by one shot after poor weather conditions on Saturday forced the pair to play 36 holes on Sunday. Kizzire closed with a 66-67 en route to a 19-under-par 265 victory total.
Kizzire follows Brendan Steele (Pro V1x - Safeway Open), Pat Perez (Pro V1 - CIMB Classic), Justin Thomas (Pro V1x - CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges), Ryan Armour (Pro V1x - Sanderson Farms Championship) and Patrick Cantlay (Pro V1 x - Shriners Hospitals for Children Open) into the Titleist Winners’ Circle.
Further, it was the third time (Kizzire, Cantlay, Thomas) in four weeks that a full product line Titleist Brand Ambassador has won on the PGA Tour and it was also the second week in a row where a first-time winner on TOUR was crowned.
Following Kizzire and Fowler on the leaderboard were Titleist golf ball loyalists Charles Howell III (Pro V1) and Martin Piller (Pro V1), who tied for 4th, five shots behind the champion.
Congratulations, Patton!
