PGA TOUR:
After sweeping the player count across every major equipment category at 13 PGA TOUR events in 2019, and again in three consecutive tournaments earlier this season (Waste Management Open, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational), Titleist accomplished the feat again at the Travelers Championship. From golf balls (116/74%), to drivers (43/28%), fairway metals (T1/67/31%) and hybrids (23/38%), to utilities (46/51%), irons (45/29%), wedges (244/56%) and putters (50/32%) — Titleist was the field favorite across every category. In fact, more than half of all golf balls, utility irons and wedges in play were Titleist branded.
Fast Fact: No other brand has ever swept every major equipment category in PGA TOUR history.
Seven of the Top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success, including 4 of the top 5. Kevin Streelman, who won the 2014 Travelers with a record-setting seven birdies to close out his round, recorded a bogey-free final round Sunday to finish one shot back. He fired a 7-under 63 on Saturday to put himself into contention. Mackenzie Hughes, tied for 3rd, another shot back. He posted a career-low 10-under par 60 on Thursday to take the early first round lead.
KORN FERRY:
Kyle Jones emerged from a three-way all-Pro V1x playoff, converting a birdie putt on the second extra hole to capture the Utah Championship. Jones topped Paul Haley and local favorite Daniel Summerhays. All three players tied at 20-under 264, one shot clear of Titleist Brand Ambassador Will Zalatoris (Pro V1; TS3/9.5° driver; TS3/16.5° fairway metal; TS3/19.0° hybrid; T100/4-PW irons, Vokey Design SM8 gap/50°, sand/54° and proto WedgeWorks lob/58°).
