    Hi Paul,

I'd recommend you try the New NXT Tour and NXT Tour S golf balls.  Both will give you the distance and control you are seeking whilst you may prefer the softer feel of the NXT Tour S.

Let us know which works best.

    Regards

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Simular problem as Paul, been a titleist player since 1970, due to illness, heart and stroke 2years ago, i've had a complete change of equipment...from a Persimmon Driver Xstiff True Temper shaft, D5, 5 papers under grip....Now 910D3 RIP 70;3-0 reg.

My left handside is now a lot weaker because of the stroke, i'm 197cm 105kg, so used to giving it plenty.

I've used depending on conditions, titleist balata and DT100 ball, now trying the Pro V1, but just not getting that zing off the club.

My preferred flight is straight with a controled gentle fade....

    Cheers Rob

    Hi Rob,

Persimmon woods and the Titleist balata and Dt 100...sounds like a golf trip down memory lane :)

It sounds like you prefer the feel of a firmer compression ball- plus the hotter sound it makes of the clubface.  I would recommend that you try the new Titleist NXT Tour and Velocity golf balls.  You will find the Velocity has a firmer feel off the face however being a better player you may just opt for the New NXT which is surlyn covered ball and has great performance around the greens.

    Regards

    Dave

    Hi Paul & Rob,

I have played Titleist balls since I was a kid. I am a single figure marker and have made a temporary switch over winter to the NXT Tour S from the Pro V1x.

I find the NXT TourS gives me good distance with a smooth tempo and nice shot stopping performance, on all but the very firmest of greens.

Even on really firm greens, I can get the ball to check dead after the first bounce.

Give them a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised just like me!

    regards,

    Mark

to be honest Paul you need to think about how hard of ball you want to hit. If you hit a ball that is too hard for you, you can do some damage to your wrist in the long term. what you need to do if you want to hit titleist is go to a range with a grass section and hit a few differnet balls e.g. pro v, nxt, velocity etc and find what one doesn't feel hard off the clubface. you want it to feel like the ball is coming off softly and that is the ball for you.
