    Bragg Creek,

Okay guys, Finau just won with the Left Dot. Can we all just agree that it’s WAY overdue for Titleist to make this ball available on a regular basis? At the very least stocked as a CPO on the website? I don’t understand why the Left Dash is available and the Left Dot isn’t.

I wonder what the difference is ? Also - how much trouble would it be to make a limited run in addition to what they make for the Tour players ? Perhaps Titleist could sell this limited run at a premium rate on a first come first serve basis...

My understanding is the left dash is even lower spinning than the x.
I could be wrong. Maybe a TT fitter could respond.

TXG might have a few videos on this, I'm pretty sure I've seen it reviewed

Says it has lower spin than Pro V1X on a full swing.

The left dash Pro V1x is a bit lower spin than the Pro V1x, and this results in a slightly lower trajectory than the Pro V1x. Part of the trade off is that it feels a bit firmer/'clickier'. There are a good number of golfers who need higher launch but don't need higher spin (the design parameters for the Pro V1x are higher long club launch and spin).

In the battle for holding greens, there are generally two options. First is angle of descent, at least part of which is getting the ball into the air. Second is spin rate. It is possible to have one without the other, or a combination of both. Too steep an angle of descent will result in a loss of distance, especially with longer clubs.

Similarly, the Left Dot Pro V1 spins a bit less than the Pro V1. Working with Titleist Tour Level Ball Fitters, my observations indicate this ball works well for golfers who a) have no problem getting the ball into a trajectory that allows a good angle of descent (figure around 45*, I think, for irons) but find the ball spins back too much and particularly with knock down shots into the wind. While the ball may still spin back a bit, it won't rip back as hard as the regular Pro V1. It will tend not to balloon into the wind quite as much, also. This ball will also have a slightly firmer/'clickier' response than the Pro V1.

Another option is the new (current, introduced in 2022) AVX which is designed to have more greenside spin than the prior generation. It is still a lower launching, lower spin ball than Pro V1. It might be worth a try if the Pro V1 spins too much. This ball is also the softest feeling ball in Titleist's Premium Ball line up.

If you can find a Titleist Tour Level Ball Fitting day in your area, it would be interesting to see whether the Left Dot Pro V1 really fits your needs. It really doesn't fit for many golfers, and this percentage seems to be significantly lower than for the Left Dash Pro V1x from what I've seen and heard from the ball fitting specialists.
