Hi Ken,
Thanks for the question.
The XP 95 is a lighter weight iron shaft. The key characteristic of the XP 95 is the flighted design. It is designed with a lower kick point in the longer irons to heighten ball flight and a higher kick point in the shorter irons to create a more penetrating flight. The 970 is a little stiffer in the tip, which will create a little lower flight. Weight is similar.
I would suggest seeing a local fitter and trying both shafts out.
Hope this helps.

I know you were looking at regular flex, but I have the stiff XP95 in my AP2's and they are fantastic. Great feel, higher ball flight, but they carry forever. I also feel like I dont have to swing as aggressively to hit them far. Try them out, I am very happy.

I terms of "flighted" are you refering to the Project X XP95 or the TrueTemper XP95
While you are at it can you refer a Tilteist certified fitter in the Park CIty UT area
Thx Tom

Hi Tom,
The TT XP 95 is a flighted shaft. As for fitter in the Park City area, please take a look at the link provided.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
