  1. Now that it has been established that when you increase loft from A-1 to D-4 (a .75 degree increase in loft) you also change the Face Angle on the club which becomes more closed.  So question, What if I set the 913 D2 driver to c-4 those an open face will it compensate for the closed face.

What I am looking to do is keep my hands in the same position but raise the loft.  Generally when you raise the loft you creat a new Face Angle.  So in order to bring the face square at address you have to move your hands forward or backwards.

So if I want to keep my hands in the same position at address and yet raise the loft either .75 degress or 1.5 degrees, what setting should I put the club at.

So for a 1.5 degree loft increase the setting should be at  ________________?

And for a .75 degree loft increase the setting should be at ________________?

    Hi Pat,

    Thanks for the post.

When it comes to adding and reducing loft, the face angle does change. However, this change in face angle should not force a player to change hand position or anything with their swing. I would suggest trying to keep it simple. If you would like to add loft, go to D-4 (.75) or A-4 (1.5). C-4 would be adding loft and making the lie angle .75 degrees flatter. As a fitter, I found lie angle had more of an effect on shot shape than the addition or reduction of loft.

    Hope this helps.
