i will be visiting the Fort Worth area in a month and have the opportunity to get a club fitting at the Jim McLean Golf Center which is a regional titleist fitting center. the place that a am currently taking lessons is an "advanced titleist fitting center".

would i get the same fitting at my local "advanced titleist fitting center" ?

what is the difference between the regional fitting center and an advanced fitting center?

if you had the opportunity which one would be better?

i assume that because there are only four regional fitting centers that the fitting there would be better. is this a correct assumption?

    anyone ?????

  3. Jim, in my opinion there are different levels to fitters within Titleist network, however here is my focus. Every fitter has different items available to them via Titleist, for instance if you a standard shaft, standard head etc..etc... player then a standard Titleist fitter may be perfect. However, in my case I am tall and a low handicap so I need longer shafts, X-Stiff shafts, access to Hd Hybrids etc..etc... which may require me to go to a regional fitting center or some advanced fitters. The good news is that any Titleist fitter I believe can get just about anything on loan if needed so the difference is what is stock in their fitting cart plus the amount of experience fitting they may have. Your call if that is a big or small difference. For me I go to Oceanside, almost on an annual basis where they have one of their two national fitting centers...this may be overkill for your situation. Regardless, have fun and know that Titleist supports all their fitters very well!

    Good Luck!

thanks Chris.  with that being said would it be fair to say that a Regional Fitting Center would have more options than an Advanced Titleist fitter ?

At Jim McLean's Golf Center. Kyle Cronkright is a highly skilled, experienced fitter and we would recommend seeing him and reserving a fitting appointment if you are going to be in Fort Worth. For more information and to reserve your fitting, contact the Jim McLean Golf Center at 817.303.4370.  As a regional fitter, he will have our largest shaft matrix outside of our Tour facilities and Performance Vans, he uses Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls and has a Trackman launch monitor to provide a Tour level fitting experience.

An Advanced Fitting Center has large assortment of shafts, a launch monitor to help select heads and shafts, and a dedicated, experienced fitter.  All Advanced Fitting Centers will provide a high level in-depth fitting experience.

Chris and Cathi have great answers. My instructor is also the Advanced Fitting Center fitter and I'm comfortable working with him. I have the opportunity to go to Fairhaven, MA on business and have the opportunity to go to Manchester Lane next week. I'm an easy fit (unlike Chris, I'm 5'10, average arm length, etc) but it will be a treat to know for sure that even a stock setup is the right combination for me. I'll still go back to the AFC next season to see if a new driver will fit my game better.

Being fitted by your personal instructor is a HUGE advantage. If your instructor has a launch monitor and uses Pro V 1 golf balls by all means stick with him.   A regional will have  more exotic shafts and a launch monitor.  He will not know your swing and swing tendencies which always come up in a fitting scenario.  That relationship is very important.

  8. Is there a list somewhere to find out where the Titleist fitting centers are?  I've been trying to find one in Utah, but haven't been too succesful.  Just wondering where I'd have to travel to in order to get fit for the new 915 driver.

I'm in Northern Utah, but I'm willing to travel to Nevada, or somewhere to get this done.

    Thanks Cathi

Hi Cliff,  We would recommend seeing Lynn Landgren over at Wingpoint GC.  He does have a launch monitor and will be able to fit the new 915's later this fall.  You can contact him at:  801.575.2343

i have decided to get fit tomorrow with my golf instructor Mike Warobick at US 1 Golf who is an advanced Titleist fitter. he does use the Trackman launch monitor. i may still visit the Jim Mclean Titleist Regional fitting center when i am in Texas next month but this way if i feel comfortable with the setup i may be able to order my new AP1s sooner !!!

Mike is a really good fitter and a TPI certified golf instructor so he understands the body fitness connection as well.
    Enjoy your fitting!

I would die for a fitter locally (City 2.6 million) that actually had the shafts being recommended me in the AP2's. The one Advanced Fitter locally was great but did not have the shafts that fit me. I have been looking up what it would cost to go to Mclean center or TPI if I that is allowed. Just pay for the flight and go down as I have not had any luck locally. Love the irons but can not get to test the shafts I am told I need.

    Hi Brett,

I'm sorry to hear that Kirk did not have the shafts you were looking to try out.  When you make an appointment to be fitted, let your fitter know what shafts you were interested in trying so that he/she can arrane (if possible) to get those shafts for your fitting.

What shafts were you looking for that were recommended?
