I need some advice from TT.  I have a 913 D3 with Graphite Design AD DI 6 in S flex and a 913F Graphite Design.  I recently shortened the shaft on the 913 D3 to 44.75 but left the club as is with the RED weight in the bottom.  I also recently shortened the shaft in the 913F to 42.50 and left the RED weight in the bottom on that one too.  I am using the Boccieri Secret grip on the D3.  I am using the Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G on the 913F.

    My question(s) regarding the 913 D3:

    1.  Which weight should I use to get the swing weight to D3 at 44.75 shaft length with that grip?

    2.  Which weight should I use to get the swing weight to D3 at 44.50 shaft length with that grip?

    My question regarding the 913F:

    1.  Which weight should I be using on the 913F to keep the factory swing weight?

    Thank You for your expertise!

I should note that the 913F Graphite Design AD DI is a 7S weighted shaft and not a 6S like the 913 D3.

I guess that the first thing that you need to know is where do you stand right now, Driver and Fwy Swingweight and start from there, how do you feel with that SW and the numbers you are getting.

    I have my 913 3W at 43.25" and a green (7 gram) weight.

They both feel too light.  My guess is the swingweight has changed about 3-4 points on the driver and approximately 5-6 points on the fairway.  And if I decide to go another 1/4 inch on the driver it's really going to be askew, especially with the slight backweight from the Boccieri Secret grip...

Based on your setup and 43.25 and green, it seems that 2 grams offset the added 1/4" length.  I'm .75 inch shorter and I don't know if I need the Blue-Weight or the Black-Weight to bring the swingweight back to the D3-D4 range on the fairway.  Same with the driver, I just need to know what gets me back to the factory swingweight as that is going to close enough to "perfect" for me...

Is the factory swingweight D2 or D4?

Thank you for the link, I understand the principles of movement within the range of length of club vs swingweight change and compensating for it with head weight.

My primary question was what is the standard swingweight for a Titleist 913 D3 with GD AD-DI 6s (45" stock length) shaft with red weight and how much do I need to compensate for at -1/4 and -1/2 inches with the Boccieri grip?

My second question was what is the standard swingweight for a Titleist 913F with GD AD-DI 7s (43" stock length) shaft with red weight and much would I need to compensate at -1/2 inch with Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2g?  Are fairway metals the same as drivers?

    Thank you for help again...

This does all depend on the weight of the grip.  The bezel weight needed in the driver head to achieve D3 at 44.75" would be the 11g (blue dot) with the standard Titleist Tour Velvet (52g).  To get it to D3 at 44.50" with the standard Tour Velvet grip, you will want to use the 14g (black dot) weight.  For the fairway at 42.50", you will want to use the 14g weight as well.

I'm not sure what the weight of the grip you use is, but keep in mind that roughly every 5g added to the grip will lighten the swing weight by 1 point.

    Hope this helps.

Cameron, Thank you VERY-VERY much!!! Exactly what I was looking for. D3 swingweight on the 913 D3 at standard and now I know what is needed to move within the range to offset length change on the Graphite Design Tour AD DI in both clubs. It does concern me because the Boccieri Secret Grip is 92 grams, so effectively I'm losing 7-8 swingweight points just by backweighting it. Something I will have to decide is worthwhile or not. It is extremely important to me that I know where factory standard is before applying any deviations so I know how to return and you answered that question perfectly... Have a great weekend and thank you again!
