What are the differences between the Regional Fitting Centers and the Advanced Fitting Centers? I'm asking because I'd have to drive 2 hours for the closest regionl center but just 5 minutes for an Advanced Center. Is it worth it?

Paul,
Thanks for the question. My facility is a regional center and we have more shaft/head combinations than an Advanced center. Advanced centers have a good matrix of shafts and you should be able to find the right one for you. Regional centers tend to have more exotic and up charge options.

Last year I took the time to drive from Atlanta to the Sea Island Regional fitting center (6 hour drive). I had used one of the advanced centers locally before with good results. Have to say the Regional Center is a much more extensive fitting experience and worth the time and effort.
I wanted to fit with the 714 AP2s which were not available for fitting at the time in Atlanta. There were more shaft combinations available for fitting, even had a tour prototype shaft in my final pair. I was fitted for the 714 AP2s two months before the release and they were shipped to my home on the release day, very cool.
The 2 gentleman at Sea Island are full time fitters as opposed to many local fitters who are golf pros first and fitters second. They use the Trackman system which is not available to many Advanced Centers locally. It made a big difference with my final selection. I also was able to fit for wedges that was not available locally.
Well worth the trip.
Joel
