I am an amateur golfer with a 10 handicap. I am looking for new irons. I currently have off the shelf TM Burner 2.0s, but I need new ones. I want Titleist irons, but I am not sure which ones to get. I like the 714 CBs, but I also like the AP2s. I have an 80 mph swing speed. I don't know whether to get stiff or regular flex shafts. My 7-iron goes 165 yards. Also, I need longer shafts, because I am 6' 3". How many more inches longer should I get? Please Help! Thank you.

My advice, let a professional help you determine what combination of iron model and shaft (type, flex and length) performs the best for you.  Use the Club Fitting and Trial option listed under Golf Clubs and find a Titleist fitter in your area and set-up a fitting session.

    Z. Oleary,

Barry B gives great advice. I think you might be amazed at how being fit properly will help your iron/wood play.

Your 80mph swing speed is for your 7 iron?

You may go longer and the lie of the club will probably be different. but it depends on your swing. That is where the fitter will help.

Trust us, see a good Titleist fitter and you will find the right heads, shafts, grips etc. I think you will love your new clubs.

Please keep us up and feel free to ask anything. We are here to help you.

    Z. Oleary,

Are you sure about your driver swing speed?

You mentioned you hit your 7 iron about 165 yds. How far do you hit your driver? I am guessing around 265 yds or so. It depends on a few things like roll etc.

I really hope you decide to go to a Titleist fitter. I really do believe you will be really happy with the results. I have ideas about what you will probably be fitted for but I don't know your swing, your shot shape, etc. A good fitter will get you the right equipment and I think you'll find more enjoyment in the game and I believe it is going to save you money in the long run.

Feel free to ask anything and we'll try to help.
