I am in the process of switching form swoosh back to all Titleist equipment. Need some help/advise on which 915D3 head to get. I currently have my CT set to 11.5*. It launches nicely but I dont want it any higher. Would you reccomend the 10.5* or would you go another direction? Shafts I use are the Kuro Kage 70x or the Tour AD BB 7x.

Is the 910f that much more versatile than the 910FD? I have a 13.5* F head but I use the 3 wood strictly for the tee, or if I have 280/290 yds to the hole and just try to get within pitching distance. Are the 913 F/FDs better than the 910 heads?

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

I would recommend going with the 915 driver AND fairways! I would also see a Titleist Certified Fitter to properly fit the clubs to you and maximize your distance and consistency!

Good luck and Welcome back to Titleist!

    Aaron,

I also recommend you seeing a Cert. Titleist Fitting Pro. It's near impossible to "fit" somebody online. For example, even though it sounds like you're hitting your current driver OK; your spin rates, launch angle, etc., could be off, costing you more mis-hits, missed fairways and greens, and so on...I've been fitting people for a long time now, as well as having a wealth of knowledge about clubs/club tech-specs and Titleist is by far the most consistent. Funny story...not too long ago, I fit a pro who lives near Dublin. He's won on Tour before, had a great career, but, is sponsored by a different club OEM. I do all of his club work. One day, while I was throwing in a new DI shaft for him, we got to talking. He knows how much I love Titleist. I was joking with him and told him that he needs to ditch the "other" stuff and go with Titleist. That day, I fit him for a new 913 F. After he got back from Hawaii, he came in and I fit him for a 913 D3. He gained 7 mph ball speed (roughly 14-21 extra yards) with the 913 F. He gained 5 mph with the D3 (10-15 extra yards). His launch angle was more consistent with the Titleist clubs. Needless to say, he set aside his current driver and 3 wood and tossed the Titleist equipment in his bag. With the correct numbers, you're going to be more consistent and start to lower your shots. The 910 Fd would be a great 3 wood, if you strictly use it for the tee, etc.. However, the new 915's are very impressive. Compared to the current sticks in my bag, I was hitting the 915 D3 a few more yards, and it was more consistent when I wanted to work the ball. Same thing with the woods.

When you see your Titleist fitter, you'll be able to try various shafts, head lofts/styles, etc.. You may need a 10.5*, but you may not. When you're fitted by a Titleist Pro, you'll walk away a very happy customer.

  4. Aaron, I agree with the others since the equipment needs to be dialed in to your game.  I was just fitted for the 915 and in the fairway we with Fd despite my thoughts that the F would be better....all depends on spin, etc...etc...

My current set up with fairway woods are the VR Pro LE heads with the Oban Devotion *-05 shafts. They launch and fly perfectly for me now.

The tour ad-bb, and ad-di shafts I love. But the kuro kage shaft in the covert head is an awesome combo for me. I will most likely throw that into the 915 and just run with it. But i will certainly test out other shafts with a fitting.

As far as the F vs FD, what did more people fit into out of the two? Whats the biggest difference between the two heads? (outside of spin rates and shape?)

The 915 Fd is more versatile than the F. The F is a little more forgiving than the Fd. The Fd will launch lower with lower spin, whereas the F will launch higher with more spin. Everybody is different. I've fit people into F's, Fd's...maybe an F for their 3 wood, and an Fd for their 5. I've even fit someone for an Fd 3 wood and an Hd. There any many variables.
