Looking at the new 915 Drivers and was wondering if "shaft puring" is for real or is it just hype?? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Bruce A
In my high opinion, no. Think about it, "they" say that "Pured" shafts are more consistent, more distance, loading...I know that Titleist spends A LOT of time doing R&D. They only want to make the absolute best that there is to offer in the business. If it was without a doubt, beneficial to the Tour players, us, the company; they'd offer that as an option, but, they don't. Now, if you want your shaft aligned a certain way on the SureFit adapter, they can usually do that.

It's a nice feeling to have a set up club, whom ever it might be beneficial to!!!

The Titleist Golf Club R&D and Leadership groups have conducted player testing to compare performance between shafts that have been PURE'd/Spine'd and shafts that have not. We have never been able to see or measure any performance difference whatsoever. Therefore, we do not feel the process adds any performance improvement or value (only cost).
The perception that many players on Tour are having this done is incorrect. A few players have their clubs PURE'd, and most of them have only had it done to a single club.
We have no plans to offer PURE'D or Spine'd shafts and do not endorse or recommend the process for Titleist clubs. If a player wants to have this done they can seek out a PURE licensee, however it does void our warranty.
Hope that helps answer your question!
