Was wondering. Every club maker seems to be moving to the. "Low/forward" CG to reduce spin and increase distance. Is it possible for a player to actually hit the ball farther with the CG aft where it has been forever? I understand the science is that less spin =more distance, but the science also says a bumble bee can't fly. Seems to me I have. Not gained any distance whereas some of my normal group have benefitted greatly from the switch. Thoughts?
  2. Were you fitted for your driver? A thorough fitting with a certified Titleist Fitter would guarantee that you'd have the best club for your game. Distance is a plus, yes, but, being more consistent will lead to lower scores.

Being fitted is KEY here. The ball flight may seem fine to you, or, maybe you're expecting other results. However, if your launch angle is off a couple of degrees; your spin's off by a few hundred RPM's; you don't have the right shaft for you...if any of these, or other, issues are a contributing factor, more than likely you won't see more distance.

Hi Gordon,  If a player mishits a forward CG club, it is not going to be very forgiving and loss of distance can be much more than a club with an aft CG.
The tag for our 915 drivers is Distance without Compromise.  The reason the 915's work so well for players is that with our ARC (active recoil channel) and new speed face, we are not only lowering the spin and increasing speed. but, our engineers worked on designing the head with the CG far enough back so that the head is still stable on mishits and has a high MOI for forgiveness.  We were able to achieve lower spin, faster speeds without sacrificing forgiveness - the best of all worlds.
