grip size matter?

Does grip size really matter?  I know that if the grip is too large, the club will twist and you will lose control.  What if it is too small?  My pro said it may be worth my while to change my grips by 1/64 of an inch (smaller) as my hands are fairly small.  I wear a Cadet Large for the short stubby fingers!  I also tend to wear the grip in the heel a lot and I assume this is caused by having to "regrip" the club at the top of the swing.

Will changing the grips by 1/64 of an inch really make that much of a difference?  I am thinking about it but the grips I have now are only a few months old that I regripped a few months ago.  There are also very few manufacturers that make smaller grips that I have found.  Does Titleist offer the smaller grip?  Or changing to a women's grip may be an option?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Heel wear is usually a sign that the club is not being kept in the finger line. If the grip is too large for you, you might not be able to hold the club in a standard fashion. I've never had an instructor that didn't check heel wear when starting with how to grip a club. I use a standard grip with a couple of extra wraps so my finger tips don't dig into the palm of my hand. A medium just isn't comfortable without gripping too hard. It doesn't take much to affect your game.
