Just came from a fitting: 86 club head speed, 124 ball speed, launch angle 15.5, RPM 1900, distance 230.  Fitter recommending a regular flex, heavy shaft with a driver loft of 7 or less. Can I really play a 7 degree lofted driver? Not sure Titleist even offers a 7 degree driver these days. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi John,  We do offer a 7.5° driver, but what loft, head and shaft did you get those numbers from?

Thanks for the reply! Numbers came from a pro at Golf Galaxy fitting me for the 2015 D2. He had no 7.5 D2s in stock so was going to check with Titleist and get back to me. The numbers were from a D2 at 8.5 and regular shaft. Currently in a 2013 D2 10.5 with Diamana stiff shaft.

If you hit a lower lofted club, you will bring down your launch, but your spin will also go down.  Will had a great analogy.......think of it as a hose and you are spraying water.  Spin is what keeps the water in the air and the hose angle is the loft.  If you launch it high, you can have less spin because the angle is already high, but if you have low spin and launch it lower, it will not go as far.  That also applies in the other direction.  You have to have just the right amount of spin and launch to get your optimal distance.  If your spin is under 2000, you need that type of launch or it won't stay in the air.  I would see if you can test that outside against your current driver and see what kind of results you get.  If you are hitting it 230 with 125 mph ball speed, that is that  is really good.
