Extending a 43" fairway shaft to a 45" driver shaft

    I'm very satisfied with the performance of my 915 3 wood with a Diamana Blue Regular 60g shaft. Now I want to use this type of shaft for my driver, which currently has a stiff shaft and has a 251 cpm (my target driver cpm is 240).

    For testing purposes, can i extend the shaft from 43" to 45" and test this on my driver just to make sure it performs well before buying a new shaft for my 915 D3? Thanks.

    You could however you would need to match the tip trim of the shaft which is generally more on 3 woods....I would suggest no doing it IMHO.  Additionally, extending a shaft will affect the CPI on normal CPI Machines since the extension will have different characteristics than the original shaft itself.  

    Might be better to find a fitting cart at a Goldsmith and test it out there...JAT
