  1. I know its hard without a fitting but I'm hoping you can help me make an educated guess. My main concern is my difficulty of getting a higher ball flight with my driver. I tend to get around 250 yards with lots of roll and no carry.

Looking to take a chance on a used 913D2 at 12* and have some shaft options to consider. Much appreciated.

    • Bassara W50
    • Diamana 'ilima 61
    • Diamana S+ Blue 62
    • Aldila RIP Alpha 60

Not sure if this helps....but I recently forgot my driver for a round and relied on my 3Wood off the teebox and realized that I was hitting it just as far as my driver but with a higher ball flight and nice carry. The shaft I have on my 3 wood is a Diamana Blueboard 68 kp-mid Stiff.

I recently re-shafted out my collection 913's. For me personally, I still think there is a difference between stock shafts and after market shafts. I don't know what it is specifically, but they do have a different feel. Grips are even better when they are after market. They look the same, but they're not.

I re-shafted with an old, dependable shaft that has been around for years. The Aldila NV. The performance and price are hard to beat. Here's what I didn't expect after my re-shafting. I pulled out all of my Diamana OEM shafts and no one, I mean 'no one' wants them. They are new and they'll end up in someone's garden, holding up tomato plants. Weird right?

Without knowing your current driver, shaft, club head, and ball speed, it would be unlikely that a fitter would start you with a 12 degree, if you are getting 250 yards with a 15/16.5 degree 3W and a stiff Blueboard. I'm using a 913 10.5 with an R S+ (blueboard - 915 version), and I am ok with the launch angle and backspin, but I'm still not near 250 w/o using a concrete cart path. In my case, the Bassara seemed like a likely choice, but had way over 3000 rpm of backspin. The empiric choice would have been wrong.
  4. I've got a png i25 at 10.5 with the stock PWR65 shaft. Have also adjusted the head to 11* and have trouble getting the ball up in the air.

I ended up taking a chance on a used 913D2 at 12* with a Diamana 'ilima stiff shaft to try out since its about a mid-high launch shaft. If its too high, I can always adjust down to 11.25* and if its still too high, then I can just return it.

To me the Bassara W50 with a 12* might be way too much since its the highest launching shaft out of all the options.

When I was getting fitted I was hitting it much higher with a regular Blueboard than with the stiff, so try that

I have a 913D2 9.5 Diamana Blue S 62, with the SureFit hosel set to 8.75 deg.  For each of us it's different, but I get a higher ball flight with it for sure, if that's what you're looking for.

I'm happy overall with the shaft.  I have the Diamana Blue 72 S in my 913Fd 15 3w, same thing pretty high ball flight.  It works for my game.  I don't get a lot of roll with either.
