The bag transition continues... For my 53rd birthday my wife gave me a new Scotty Camerom putter that included a fitting with the purchase. The fitting was done by Gary Cressend of Augusta Country Club, he had previously taken care of the fitting process for my 915D2 and 915F. Going into the fitting I contacted Gary via email to ask what the process would entail, He asked that I narrow my selection down to 2 or 3 putter types before we actually met to finalize the selection of the putter. The actual fitting took place at Augusta Country Club on one of their practice greens, which made enabled me to see how each putter perform on actual greens. For my fitting I had narrowed my selection down to 2 putters: the Futura X & The GOLO 5 DB. Going into the fitting I was convinced in my mind that I would be purchasing the Futura X, however as the fitting progressed Gary noticed that I was consistently hitting my line with the GOLO 5 DB. After He pointed that out and talked about the 2 putters little more I focused on that aspect with each putter and found that this to be spot on.. Once I had settled on the GOLO 5 DB, Gary spent the remaining time of session, showing me how to properly align the putter given the 70• lie angle. The one thing I have had to work on since the purchase is speed control, but I knew that coming out of the purchase , as Gary talked about that with me as well.. I say all this to say that after two fitting sessions with Gary has been well worth it.. My results with my Driver, 3-Wood and know my Putter have far exceed my expectations.. I can say without a doubt that I will be working with him as the budget allows to complete my bag transition.. Next up is the Hybrids and Irons... The last thing I would say is for those who are wondering if a proper club fitting is worth it all I can say Yes It Is... There is something very reassuring about stepping in to a shot knowing that the club you have in your hand is going to perform exactly like its supposed to because it has been properly fit for you.. Thanks to you folks at Titleist for all you do for us.. Nickolas G.
