So I know that the majority of my issue is my wrist flick at impact , but aside from that Im very happy with my ball striking. Im looking for a better shaft to put in the new set on 716 Ap2 when they are available for sale later this year. I am torn between the KBS c-taper and or if I should go to a X flex steel shaft ( currently playing the s300) . I know majority are going to tell me to get fitted but Im just asking for personal opinions for now. Thanks Tim

Better feel than the C-Taper or DG, and they run a little stiff so start with the S flex.  Doubt you will need the X.

    Thanks ,

Checking them out now ..... Do many places have these shafts to get fitted ? I would assume the Titleist fitting centers would ?

Hi Tim,  We have 4 Regional fitters in the country and one of the them is at Sea Island - the fitters there are Curtis Leggett and Craig Allan.  They will have almost all the iron shafts available for fitting by the end of next month.  To contact them for further information as well as to schedule a fitting appointment, their number is:  912.638.5119.

Closer to Savannah, Belfair Golf Club will have their fitting tools in October and you can contact Jason or Chris at 843.757.0715 for more information.

Tim - You hit the nail on the head that you should get fitted.  Hitting different shots with different shafts on a launch monitor will really help dial in the right shaft for your swing.  From personal experience, prior to fitting I had a pretty high ball flight and I wanted a lower trajectory. After trying a lot of different shafts, the fitter and I settled on the Dynamic Gold X100's.  These provide a lower trajectory to me and consistent performance.  You are investing a lot of money in new clubs so take the time to get fit, it is certainly worth it.

  6. C-Taper definitely has lower ball flight than Tour-V. In addition, the weight difference makes the S+ in the C-Taper feel stiffer than the X in the Tour-V. You need to hit them to see for yourself.

The Tour-V feels a bit more lively, even in the X, than the C-Taper in S+.  Your mileage may vary, of course!

You may like the Project X 6.0 shaft or the KBS Tour X flex??? The 716 irons offer the Dynamic Gold AMT shafts if you feel you need a X flex you could possibly order them with AMT X100 or soft stepped 1x to fit in between.
