    Hi all,

I can see that the 716 AP1 irons have a swing weight of D1 with the stock xp 90 shaft.  I tested them with the KBS Tour S shaft and they felt great (120g shaft).  I was just wondering how the swing weight changes when changing to the heavier shaft.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Daniel,

Even though the KBS Tour weighs more the two shafts will swing weight the same assuming identical build specifications.

Thank you!  Is that because of counterbalancing in the KBS?  It's surprising given the 27g weight difference.

  4. Hi Daniel,

Swing weight essentially refers to the balance of the golf club, and though shafts might weigh substantially more or less they can have the same swing weight. The balance point of the shaft is a key factor in determining swing weight.
