  1. Ok, here is what happened. I bought AP1's, I got fitted for shafts and went with ProjectX! When I got fitted they told me to add 1 inch to my shafts. I just assumed they were correct. Now I am hitting my irons 15-20 yards less then I used too!!! This is driving me nut's! I went to 2 other fitters, and they said I was nuts to get an inch added! I am 6 feet tall. MY QUESTION IS " can I get my shafts re-cut to take that inch off without screwing up my irons?? Some have said its ok, others have told me it will screw them up, and change the kickpoint, and I need to buy all new shafts again??? really, all new shafts? Can I cut them back to size safely?? HELP!!! Thanks Doug P.

  2. I can appreciate your dilemma. I was recently"fitted" and received totally different specs from 3 different retailers. Get to an official titleist rep to address the problem.

The project X is a taper tip shaft, you won't "screw them up" cutting from the butt end, however it will change the swing weight. You lose 3 sw points per 1/2" length cut. If they feel too light after cutting, you may have to add tip weights to the shaft.
