    I am in the process of buying a new set of irons. The fitters made me hit 7 irons. What is an optimal spin rate for a 7 iron?

    for 50-60 mph it is around 4800, 60-70 is around 5000-5200, 70-80 is about 5200-5600, and 80-90 is about 5600-6000. Thats on clean, not overly diggy shots. Don't go too high or you wont be able to play in the wind. Hope I help.

    What do you want the ball to do when it hits the green? And how high are you hitting it off the ground?
