When you are about to spend good money on a putter the question is why not. Depending on where and who you get a fitting with the process will allow you to gain some insight to your putting. The lie angle is important to understand and what an optimal position translates to more accurate rolls. Furthermore, understanding the type of putter that is the best fit for you could be eye opening too. I had always liked the blade style putters and never gave a look to the mallet style. Turns out that based on my putting stroke, the mallet style was better for me.

I would highly recommend you get fitted. In my case, at the very least.....I would know that it's not the equipment which is causing the problem.

    Hi Dominic,

There are a lot ways fitting help your putting game. Having the length cut just right makes you able to set up to the ball more comfortably and there by more consistently. I see a lot of ammeters that with the stock 35" that is too long for them, so they hold the putter in an awkward position that lacks stability. Their puts go everywhere, but usually a with sever pull because the toe is way off the ground. Having the lie adjusted makes it so the slight loft typically 4* points down the line on impact. If the to is up, that loft makes the putter point to the left, causing a pull. And you want to have just the right amount of loft to cause the ball to roll pure. Not too much loft to cause backspin or too little causing the ball to bounce of the ground. Both will cause inconsistent distance control.

This is just the basic fitting. There is also, having the proper alignment markers so you can aim straight, toe flow to match your preferred swing, weight and balance to match your tempo. Too light weight, you might pull or push it off line too easily, too heavy and you may lose feel for distance control and putt too short.

I highly recommend a fittings, and a tune up every year or so.
