Shaft Length and Impact on Flex

    I'm looking at a new set of 716 AP2s with a custom (+1.5") shaft. Will the extra length decrease the stiffness / FCM of the shaft or will the characteristics be maintained even with the longer clubs (for example, will an 'S' play like an 'R' due to the extra length, or will an 'S' play as an 'S')?

    I currently play KBS Tour S+ +.5" shafts and I wouldn't want the new longer clubs to perform like a shaft that isn't as stiff.

    Unfortunately, my local club fitter's Titleist cart doesn't have the target head / shaft combination for me to test, so I was hoping that this forum might be able to help.

    What should I expect if I order these directly from Titleist?

    I would expect the longer shaft to play a little softer. At 1.5" longer, that may feel more whippy to you. Curious to see what Titleist says.
