Deciding what the difference would be. Ordering AP2 this week. Ready, set go...

  2. The key difference is the weight dispersion of the shafts as they come off the line. The Tour Issue are within one gram of each other, while the std shafts have a much higher dispersion but not too crazy.

Thus, if you are very big into quality control and do not want anything left to chance go with the Tour Issue. If you are comfortable with saving some money yet your shafts might be slightly different weights (albeit not by much) then go the standard route.

I have always done Tour Issue, but keeping less variables out of the equation for me as a feel player is important vs. cost.

    Good Luck!

If you can really tell the difference in the shafts by that small of a change then pay for the extra.
I order DG S400 AMT's and play just fine with them spec'd to my fit.

Tim, I agree most people cannot tell the difference but if it concerns someone than upgrade to the Tour Issue Model. Eitherway, you will have a beautiful set of irons!

Here's my thoughts, I recently have played regular s400, soft stepped x100, steelfiber 110 and now am hitting the Tour Issue Dynamic Gold S400 AMT... it is AWESOME and I've finally landed to the shaft they works for me... I've read and studied threads forever between the shafts, the only way for me to know is to take a risk, buy the shafts and see how they do in the field for a few rounds. The Tour Issue s400, for me, made a difference with my ball flight and my confidence, I know some say you're just wasting money but for me it was well worth it, I see my shots more consistent, more on point and I won't be changing anytime soon, I tried to like and try others but this for me couldn't be any more perfect. I'm also hitting it 5 years further than the regular s400
And I will mention a thing about fitters, I think they're way over rated, I paid a lot of money to have someone tell me the shaft and iron that would be the "best for my game" and "give me maximum distance", but I was never happy with that set up and my game suffered, experiment as much as you can, go with what you want to try and not what others say you should or shouldn't do, I've never been happier with my clubs but it took me trying to figure out rather than someone telling me what I should do.... sorry for the tangent there...

  6. I feel like taking that leap. Played lightweight shafts for years and weakest part of my game. Went for a 'fitting' also and after studying the numbers long and hard i feel my best was from DG S400 TI which is the polar opposite of my recommendation. Wish me luck

Thanks all! I am going back to S400s from S300s and will be going with Tour Issue. Looking forward to getting them and the up charge was not that much in my opinion.

My bag is Titleist all the way thru and I don't mind paying for the best!!!
