I write to share my experience of a club fitting session today.
The goal was to find a replacement 2-iron.
I was fortunate the fitter used trackman and I tried three shafts - Project x 6.5 (my choice iron shaft), the X100 Tour edition, and the stock DG X100 AMT. My head speed reached 108mph on trackman using the T-MB 2-iron with all the shafts I tried.
I was surprised the x100 AMT was producing very similar numbers (spin, flight) to my favourite shaft - the Project x 6.5. The x100 AMT was flying another 5-8 yards through the air, hence it is the winner (mid flight with low spin).
I have read the x100 AMT plays soft to flex. This fitting session has dispelled this myth.
I have no intension of replacing the PX 6.5 in my blades. I am simply articulating in the case of the T-MB 2-iron the X100 AMT seems to work well.
I hope this helps others. Get fitted, and try before you buy, and don't be influenced by opinions expressed on internet websites
