I bought a set of AP1's 4-w, not sure how to gap the top and bottom of the bag....? I have Vokey 50,54,and 58 wedges to compliment the 43*pw, and 47*w. But only have room for two clubs lower than my 4 iron. I do like my 3 hybrid, maybe play just a wood instead of driver, or skip a wood and go 3h and driver? What have others done with there AP1's and the low lofts??

    JS,

I bought a set of 716 AP1s not too long ago also. I'm almost 68 yrs old and shoot to a 13 hdcp. My set starts at a 7i and went to the 47* wedge. However due to a senior moment I drove a cart over the 47 and broke the shaft. So I replaced it with a Vokey SM6 46* that I had raised to 47*. All that being said, here's my set-up. 913 D2 driver, 816H1 21* hybrid, 913 hybrids in 24* and 27*, 2008 AP1 6i (from my old set), 716 AP1s 7i-PW, 3 Vokey's in 47*, 51*(a SM5 52 that I had bent to 51), and a SM6 56* SW. I have trouble hitting fairway metals, (thus the 3 hybrids). This gives me 13 clubs so I could do something additional if I wanted to, but I like the KISS theory (keep it simple stupid) when playing golf. The lofts in the wedges were set so as to keep a 4*-5* spread (43,47,51,56). I'm not a big hitter at all so I get clubs that give me the best chance of hitting the ball fairly well and keeping it in play. So, hope this helped a little bit. Fairways and greens.

Thats a tough one since you have room for two clubs.

An option is to change up your wedge game a little and go something like 52 / 58.

That gives you a little more room on the top for say a 3h and a 3w (or 5w if thats your thing) and a Driver.

It would likely require you learning a few new shots with the 52 though.

That is exactly what I did, using vokey 52 & 56 and has worked out great for me. I have have never really played a 60 so it was a no brainier, the 3hybrid and 3w are much more utilized in my bag.

    Maybe I will drop the 54...... go PW, W, 52, and 58.

I suppose I will rearrange my wedges to accommodate my 3w and driver. How about AP1 Pw(43*), 48, 54,58? I just bought the 54 and 58 SM6's before I bought this set of AP1's, I really like them!! Or is that too much gap between 48 and 54?

I have the 714's so they are 1 degree weaker than yours. I go drive, 3 wood, 19 hybrid, 3456789pw,w, 54, 58 vokey's. I have a lot of Vokey's and tried different combos including dropping the aw but like it for 110 yard shot. (46, 50,54,58,60 Vokey's)

    So I go 48 to 54 degree - the 716's would be 47 to 54 degree

Rather than using degrees to drive your choice, find someplace outside where they can fit your clubs to the distance gaps. The Vokey SM6 gap wedges are amazing by comparison to prior models. My 52 is 8-10 yards longer than my SM5 52 bent to 51. Before that, I had an 18 yard gap from Gap to PW. You also need to check out the 15/16.5/18 degree fairway woods rather than just pick the 3W/15 degree from a catalogue.
