  1. I have a Birthday coming up and I'm Considering making an appointment at the fitting Center. My only question is would this be a huge benefit for a High Handicapped Golfer ( I shoot 88-91) I will admit its intimidating to me. Thanks in advance

I think the benefits you would receive will amaze you. The folks you will work with are there to help you play better by helping you with tips to improve your swing and customizing clubs for your swing. Set up an appointment!!

Get the fitting done for the whole bag. You will enjoy the experience as well as enjoy your future rounds with the best equipment for your swing. I used to use Miles of Golf in the Ann Arbor area before I moved. Top notch.

No Doubt. Any fitting not only helps you get better, it gives you more confidence in playing and taking shots. You will not be "afraid" to take that chance knowing that your clubs are matched to the swing that you're going to take.

A fitting, plus lessons, playing, and practicing makes you a better golfer. Any golfer will get better.

    Good Luck

    Do it, Charlie! Do it!
  6. The short answer is, YES. Any time you get a fitting, whether you're a 0 (me) or a high handicapper, it will almost always be beneficial. Clubs that aren't tuned to your specific swing can hurt you in a lot of ways. I'm actually an apprentice teaching pro at a country club in Indiana, and I have fitted members for clubs that have high handicaps, and as soon as they get their new clubs, it's like a new world to them. They drop strokes like nothing else becasue their clubs are working with their swing, and not against them any more. I HIGHLY recommend it!

    Hope this helps.

Boy, there are a lot of variables. You'll get some swing analysis that may help as well as the clubs fit to where you are now. Let's say it makes a 3-5 stroke difference. On the other hand, I much prefer a day with the Titleist masters than spending the same amount on a spa day. That makes it a good value relative to the spa but it is only one piece of practice, playing, learning, fitness, and the best clubs for who you are to get the most benefit.

It will really benefit you! The higher handicap golfer has more room for improvement and properly fitted clubs are a great start. No need to be intimidated, the fitters have seen it all! They will give you the same experience as a plus handicap player.

Remember, most high handicap players are playing with the wrong equipment and just making a hard game even harder.

Absolutely! And don't be intimidated. I went to Manchester Lane a few weeks ago and it was hands down the best experience I could ever imagine. The tools and the equipment's they have there is amazing. I couldn't believe all the shafts they had there..

Regardless of your HCP, they will treat you first class to make sure you have the right clubs for your game at the end of the day. HIGHLY recommend doing it.

Only advice I'll give is; Go in with an open mind and TRUST the fitter..
  11. Thanks Everyone for the Positive comments. Ill report back on my results. :-)

If the fitter doesn't make you feel comfortable then you should end the fitting and leave immediately. A true professional will put you at ease while doing your fitting...they have seen all the bad shots that can be made and can still pull the data needed to help your game.
  14. Going to a fitting center will help a high handicapper. They will analyze your swing and see what your most consistent misses are. For ex. if you keep missing your shots to the right he will look for a certain type of shaft to help to get the ball to fly more straight & reduce your misses going right or he may bend the clubhead so it sits at a more flat or open position. If you are hitting a shot high and the next low and then one right and one left it will be a more difficult for the fitter to try and find a shaft that fixes all your misses, but he will be able to find what clubs works best for you and then it's up to you to practice and get better. If you go you will learn a lot about your golf swing and your are treated first class.

    Hi Carlie,

Having been to Manchester Lane twice now for an all bag fitting to just wedges/new driver, I cannot say enough great things about the whole experience. The fitters were incredible (Karen & Bubba) and they ensure that you are warmed up before the actual fitting starts. Like other TT members have said, the correct shafts and all other personalized settings will be "yours" specifically and they work with you all the way to ensure the best fit for your swing.
I am looking forward to my third trip in 2017!
Looking forward to hearing how the day/fitting went!
