The lie setting is important for irons and wedges, as the turf interaction can affect the face staying square with the path and ball. The loft and lie on the driver are fine-tuned to your swing path to get maximized loft, spin, and path. LPGA members will still use 44.5 to 45 inch drivers and would need enormous amounts of lie adjustment if it were important to have the driver face flat relative to the ground. Tune your driver to your swing and don't connect lie adjustments from irons to metal woods.
