  1. After golf fitting with Lewis at Titelist at Cams Hall golf course.Final setting on Standard A4. Have thought that to increase loft I would need to move it the next fitting up your chart directly above the standard setting. Is this in fact decreasing the actual loft by increasing the face opening by .75. Confused.

    Titleistuser,

If I am understanding the question correctly, I think this explanation will help.

The SureFit adjusts loft and lie independently of itself. The rule of thumb is if you increase loft in a club you will inherently close the face. If you reduce loft, you will open the face.

If you set a 10.5* driver at SureFit setting A4 you have an EFFECTIVE loft of 12* with a standard lie, but the face is moved to 1.5* closed because you have increased the loft.

There are a lot of PGA Tour players that use this to their advantage. They will bend or adjust clubs to their desired lofts, lies, and face angles to accommodate their preferred shot shapes and tendencies.

    To summarize:

    A1 - Standard
    D4 - +.75* loft .5* Closed Std Lie
    A4 - +1.5* loft 1.5* Closed Std Lie

    Hope this helps!
