My last driver I purchased I fit w a shop pro. We tried different shafts and lofts and found a set up that I could fade consistently w 220-230 carry and 235-250 total yards.
After taking to the course a few times I ended up bringing the shaft length down by an inch.
I learned how to hit the full length shaft but I've always been a more consistent driver w my 3 wood, so I felt more comfortable w the shorter shaft.
Recently, I've learned to get a better hinge in the wrist and find the slot more, so I went to try out some new driver's and happened to start playing a club w a 43.5" shaft/stiff flex. I'm pretty sure my other club is 45" after cutting. On the sim I started getting 230-250 carry and seeing many in the 250-270 total. The club felt really short but was extremely easy to find the slot and center face too.
My question comes down to if I should just buy this demo club as is bc I really liked it or if I should get fit w a new model and try to play a slightly longer shaft than the 43.5"?
-- possibly important info is I've always played a senior flex bc I've been a caster of the club and the extra flex allowed my hands to get the head square on the ball. Now that I am finding what I think is the slot and the club is coming more from the inside the head seems to find square on it's own as I release the hinge and w the shortened shaft the stiff flex wasn't getting stuck open like it usually would w a long shaft, so I like the way the stiff was playing that day on the sim. 95mph used to be a solid swing for me but w that particular club I was seeing high 90's/best of 104mph so I am pretty excited to just buy the thing rather than fit myself to a new model/possible better combination.-- thoughts?
