Okay here's a question regarding lie angle and strike. My irons are 2 degrees up and 1/2 inch long. I strike my irons very well and the wear pattern confirms this. My wedges are 1 degree up and also 1/2 inch long. While the strike isn't bad I have noticed that the wear pattern is consistently 1/8 inch from the center and more towards the toe. Now this is playable and from shot to shot I don't realize negative effects but after playing with the wedges and seeing this consistent pattern I wonder about the lie angle. So my question is how the lie angle could be adversely impacting the strike pattern of my wedges and whether adjusting lie angle either up or down would bring that strike back towards the center? Lastly because I know this will come up I was appropriately fit in the last 12 months.

    Thanks,

Why are your irons 2* upright while your wedges are only 1* upright? Shouldn't they be the same? Just one degree of separation can affect that wear pattern. If it's not effecting ball flight, I wouldn't worry about it too much. All of my irons & wedges are 1* flat across the board and wear them in the same spot.
Just a thought that maybe someone else can confirm.

I asked the same question being fit and I was told that because wedges are shorter clubs there is less need for them to be bent as upright as the irons. I suppose with a shorter club the angles are such that only 1 degree was necessary. Also remember that when discussing this 1 degree up vs 2 degree up we're talking about relative measurements to the standard lie angle which is different all through the bag.
