I want to give a HUGE shout out to Charlie Beitpoulice who runs your Titleist Thursday events at Cinnabar Hills in San Jose, CA. The first time I went to see Charlie in May it was to get fitted for a set of Vokey wedges for Father’s Day - I absolutely love my SM6’s! After the fitting he invited me to hit the remaining range balls he had out there while he wrapped up and broke down his tent & gear (I was his last fitting of the day). He noticed I was I was getting frustrated with my 915 driver. He asked me what was going on and suggested that I make another appointment to see if I had the right shaft in my driver.
When I came back a few weeks later, he took some measurements and told me that I had the right shaft & club but that I just needed to work on my swing. He suggested a change in my swing path and setup to hit with more of an upswing and take spin off the ball. He could have easily said I needed a new shaft and sold me something I didn’t need but instead he said I had the right club just not the right swing. I told Charlie that I would be back at the end of the year to get fitted for a new set of irons for my birthday, and since we had time left he “pre-fitted” me to AP2s but also had me hit the C16 just for kicks – added 15 yards but the price tag was out of my budget - or so I thought.
Fast forward to last week. My wife decided to accelerate the timeline for my iron fitting and made an appointment for me last week in advance of our upcoming trip to Pinehurst. The night before the fitting she told me that I should get the C16s. I would never have even considered getting the C16s, and I might have looked at other brands if it weren’t for Charlie. He had earned my trust twice over with the wedges and my driver. I’m looking forward to hitting my C16s this coming weekend and at Pinehurst in a couple weeks - you have Charlie to thank for that. He’s great at what he does and Titleist you need to find a way to keep him in your organization!
