Im a senior tournament golfer who recently turned 60. My swing speed has decreased (driver-95 mph; irons-low 80's) I currently swing 95 gram high launch steel shafts on my 714 AP2's and have been told by my golf instructor that I may wish to move into a steel/graphite hybrid shaft of straight graphite shaft. My ball flight is lower but I'm working with Trackman and am improving on all measurements-trending towards optimum. Any suggestions for my new 716 AP2irons that I'm currently looking into? Gary

Your SS is a bit higher than mine. my driver 92 to 93 irons high 70's to 80.

I have the graphite 680 F4 (which is their regular flex) and get a really nice high ball flight. They aren't Titleist heads but very comparable to the AP2's.

I have also had good success with the KBS Tour 90, they aren't graphite but are very light steel.

    Gray,

Have you see Titleist's shaft performance guide?
    Take a look here:

I am 64 I have higher swing speed than you are showing and I prefer to hit a medium high ball flight but I can control the flight as needed. I love the Kuro Kage 60 that I have in my 716 AP1s. These shafts are incredible. I never ever thought I would like a graphite shaft until I tried these metal/graphite hybrids. Very advanced golf shaft. Very light too. You might want to consider these.

    Best Wishes,

Hi Gary! If the issue is the shaft weight and you'd like a lighter shaft, Zelos 7 by NSpro has a really cool steel shaft that competes with the graphite weights with great dispersion.
    73.5 - R2 torque 2.9
    74.0 - R torque 2.8
    77.5 - S torque 2.6

It's currently the lightest steel shaft in the world.
These shafts can be ordered in an off menu with your Titleist clubs.

I have these on my 716 CB and it is amazingly great!
