Hi everyone, OK, decided to drive the 2 hours next Saturday to the closest Titleist Fitting Day to me. Is there anything I should do or bring to my first fitting? How much will this cost? I've been experimenting and using different driver shafts and adjusting the lofts on my own trying to figure out what works best for me and that's not working apparently. I like the idea of having a professionally fitted 917 Driver to knock around this fall. I am a bit curious to see how close I am to what the fitter suggests for my driver. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Most important thing is to go in with an open mind. Don't try to make perfect swings, just swing normal. Alot of what you want to see is how the club performs on your less than perfect swings, they all do generally well when hit right on the sweet spot with a 120 mph ss..LOL

Don't have preconcieved ideas on the model or flex of shaft you want, he may ask what you like to see in your ball flight and etc, but let them do what they do.

As for cost, if it's the 917 Launch Event, I'm pretty sure there is no cost, at least there isn't at the one I'm signed up for.

Oh and if you can get to the range and warm up for 10 minutes or so, that would help, but don't wear yourself out ahead of time.

Have fun and let us know how it goes.

    1. Bring a clear head. You should know what feels good to you when you hit the ball. Ask questions and keep an open mind.
    2. Bring your normal swing. Don't try to drill every shot, swing within yourself.
    3. Bring your clubs. The fitter may or may not want to see you swing with your clubs and or hit a few to warm up.
    4. Relax, enjoy and learn.
  4. Bring an open attitude...I think that is one of the most important factors. As far as anything else, your current gamer(s) is also helpful.

Thanks for the helpful feedback! I noticed a bunch of events in my area scheduled for the 17th, can you be fit at the demo day? Or is it best to do the Titleist Thursday? If I do t have to drive 2 hrs that would be great. Lol

That's a good question. I am signed up for a 917 Launch event, from talking to the fitter, it sounds like each spot is about 30 minutes, and they will have a trackman and the fitter at this location is TPI, who I've taken lessons from. So I'm pretty confident it will be a good fitting. At this location anyway.

I would think the Titleist Thursday's probably offer a bit more one on one and you are assured of having a Titleist Rep or at the very least a Tech there. I

Hope that helps some, probably best to call the 917 location you are thinking of going to and clarify what they will have.

Myself, I would do a Titleist Thursday. :)

Darron & Robert are right on the money!
I will reiterate three points: bring your current club(s), warm-up, have an open mind.
My Titleist Thursdays fitting ended with me being fit to a club with 1.5-degrees less loft and a shaft that was 20+ grams heavier. Just let the fitter do his/her job.

I called Titleist to make sure the event where my appointment is will be run by the Titleist Fitters. Apparently the others in my area are run by the pros at the local ranges and clubs. Not saying they don't do a good job, but really wanted to be fit by the Titleist employees. From what I read online they are the best of the best. They'll need to be to fix me! Lol I'll bring my trusty 913 D2 10.5 loft with the Diamana Bluebord 72g Reg flex or as I like to call it "The Fairway Finder" really curious to see what I'm actually supposed to be using. I'll update this Saturday afternoon with the results. Can you tell I'm pumped? Lol

Good Stuff Mr. Pizzle...You should be pumped, it'll be very exciting. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

Well had the fitting this morning and two things:
#1 every Titleist Rep was fantastic! From the club fitters to the ball fitters everyone I spoke to was more than happy to help and genuinely wanted to be there and help. Thank you so much!
    #2 my current driver data:

    913D2 10.5 loft
    A1 Surefit setting
    Regular flex Diamana 72g

After hitting the 917 the fitter set me up with
    917 D2 8.5 loft
    B2 Surefit setting
    Draw bias 12g cartridge
Aldila Rogue Max 65g stiff flex

The ball flight was so different. Low launching bullets that are probably still rolling as opposed to high launching crater makers! Can't wait to get my new driver, thanks again Titleist!
