I will be ordering a Titleist 917 D2 driver ASAP, then irons, but I have a question that could play an important role with my orders. Has anyone at Titleist, or experienced testers, done research with counterweighted grips? I have been using counterweighted grips for a few years, and they seem to have been beneficial for target consistency, and helping club head lag. I'd like to replace "seem to" with results from actual testing that verifies what I think is happening, or have I simply improved lag? .... Additionally, would this 10grams of added weight in the butt of the grip necessitate specifying a different swing weight for drivers / irons? Would the extra weight reduce swing speed at the clubhead? I don't want to replace perfectly fine grips with $14-per counterweighted grip if testing doesn't support my "seems to" thoughts. Assuming counter weighting is helpful: Titleist hasn't previously offered counterweighted grips before... could this be an option when ordering, so the clubs are built with proper weighting, and buyers wouldn't need to replace new grips on arrival?
