I was wondering how much Titleist tips their driver shafts before installing the adapter, is .5" or 1"?

If I'm not mistaken, they typically don't tip them at all. Just trim to playing length from the butt end.
Cathi .... can you confirm this?
  3. Hi Ryan,

Our standard tipping changes based upon the shaft in question, but all driver shafts are either not tipped or tipped 1/2". Please let me know what shaft(s) you are most interested in and I can give the exact amount.

    All the best

What about the Project X Yellow? I have one on order (raw) and plan on putting it in the 915 & then the 917 when I order that. I realize only the Black is currently available but I know the Yellow will be out later this year for order.
Would it be tipped the half inch or not tipped at all and just trimmed to playing length?
  6. Hi Ryan / Hi Chris,

The Diamana LTD is not tipped, and the Diamana 'ahina is tipped 1/2".

The PX HZRDUS Yellow shaft would be tipped a standard of 1/2".

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

Are all Diamana LTD not tipped? Interested in the S+ Ltd myself.

    Thanks!

    Hello Chris,

My shafts of my 917D3 driver (new) and 917F2 fairway wood (new) were damaged during transport and I would like to replace them.

Considering the ease way of replacing the shafts (with a screw), I wish to buy the shafts with the original grips included, and replace the shafts myself. However, I have an anxiety (the original swing weight). Could you tell me if each driver or fairway wood is balanced (with a specific swing weight) in your production line after the assembly of the shaft? These shafts have a tip weight in it?

Would the swing-weight be exactly the same as the original if I buy the same original shaft + grip and install them ? The standard shafts of the same model are interchangeable (without adding any weight) ?.

    Thank you

Awesome thanks Chris! I should have my Yellow shaft in a few days but have to wait until Oct 21 for the 917. Anticipation is killing me!

Just out of curiosity, what makes the decision to tip or not to tip 1/2"? Head weight, shaft weight, etc.?

Chris T--- thanks for the response, much appreciated.

Chris b--- I was wondering the same since the D+ LTD 70 and Ahina 70 are both very close in weight and very close in profile. So I'm very curious too.
