I purchased a 917 D3 head with the standard 12g weight, but I was wondering what weight I would need in order to get the SW back to normal with a 44.5" Motore Speeder Tour Spec 7.2x shaft. Thank you for your help.

If you purchased that head and shaft combination thru Titleist, then the swing weight should be set correctly. Are you saying you purchased the head and the shaft from two different sources? Have you checked with a fitter or club repair shop?

What swing weight do you consider to be normal for you?

I purchased the head on its own since I am keeping the Motore Speeder Tour Spec 7.2x from my 915. The shaft plays 44.5" and the 915 head came with the black weight when I ordered that directly through Titleist 2 years ago, which is why I am curious as to which weight I need for the 917 since I didn't purchase it through Titleist. I have not checked with a fitter or club repair shop since I do not have access to one currently. As for the swing weight I consider normal, I'm not 100% sure, but I loved the weight of the 915 with the black weight with the 44.5" shaft.

HI Blake, At 44.5", the 14gr weight in your 915 would have brought it to D4 assuming you had a standard grip, standard wraps.
In the new 917 head, your 12 gram red weight would be D2+ (at 44.5"), so the 16 gr would be about D5.
