Oceanside/TPI and Manchester Lane both charge for the fitting. A full bag used to be $500. You are given the specifications and have the choice of ordering them through your local pro shop or another retailer. I've had irons at Manchester Lane, wedges with the Midwest tour van, and woods at Oceanside. In addition to big box stores. The quality of the fitters and access to all the available heads and shafts is far above the local retail store. You do need to contact Titleist in advance for a date and time. Titleist Thursdays have been a popular alternative, with a more open scheduling.

Hi JS -- it is my understanding that there is no specific "TPI Fitting" per se. My understanding is that there are fitness coaches/trainers that are TPI certified and that there are golf coaches/instructors that are TPI certified as there are with medical specialties such as chiropractic and physical therapists.

I have worked with a TPI fitness trainer (Level 2) and she has explained the program as one in which she works with me on my physical capabilities, including my flexibility and range of motion, and the areas of focus for strength training.

She then is able to share that information with my golf coach/instructor regarding my progress, etc. so that there are areas of my swing, set up, etc. that the coach can focus on specifically and be fully aware of my capabilities, limitations, etc. to ensure that my swing is as efficient as can be given my physical limitations.

As far as an actual golf club fitting process, that I am not aware of. My coach also happens to be a certified Titleist Fitter at our Regional Fitting Centre. Perhaps one of the TPI folks or a TT concierge/staff can share more information.

You can also go to: http://www.mytpi.com/ for more information.

  4. Hi JSeltzer,

We offer a complete fitting of 13 clubs, driver through the wedges, at both the Titleist Performance Institute and Manchester Lane facilities. The fitting fee is $600, takes about three hours, and there is no rebate/ discount for clubs purchased. If you do not need a full fitting we can divide the complete fitting into three parts: driver/ fairway, hybrid/ iron, and wedges. Each of these segments is $250 and about one hour long.

At the conclusion of the session your fitter will discuss their recommendations and email you a copy of your specs. Any purchase of product will need to go through an authorized Titleist retailer. No clubs can be built or purchased from the test facility. www.titleist.com/locator

While onsite your fitting will be conducted outdoors, on turf, in a one-on-one environment with one of our experts using Pro V1/x golf balls, TrackMan, and the latest Titleist fitting tools available.

Fittings are available at the Titleist Performance Institute Monday - Friday nearly year around. Sessions begin at either 9:00 am or 1:00 pm, and you should try to schedule at least one month in advance to help ensure availability. At Manchester Lane fittings are typically conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 9:00 am or 1:30 pm. The facility is open from May to October; however, this is weather dependent. Due to the limited availability and seasonal calendar openings fill quickly so we ask that you schedule at your earliest convenience.
